Japanese Poster Art

Japanese poster art has a long and remarkable history. The tradition of prints go way back to the days of woodblock printing during the 17th century and has influenced Japanese poster art and advertising art till today. Especially the 1920s and 30s saw a rennaissance for traditional prints with Art Déco advertising posters with railway travel and alcohol consumption being the best examples.
